Speed Guarding :)

Ever tried "speed guarding"? Read on to find out about it..........

I went up to the Olympic Center to figure skate this morning. Even though I would have also liked to speed skate out on the oval, I am training for my figure skating event in Empires this weekend. So I have been concentrating more on that.

This week, it is really busy at the OC. Many girls I have not seen since the summer have returned to practice a few days before Empires. Therefore, the sessions have had an average of 15 skaters as opposed to 5 (the normal average amount).

At the oval, it was fairly busy for the public sessions. I worked in the box office, then skate guarded-on speedskates! My boss gave me permission to skate on the split session on speedskates and keep the public skaters out of the speed lane. Easier said then done, but it was fun to "speed guard" for a change!
